Midnight sun eclipse June 1, 2011: Local conditions |
Here you can find out when and where the eclipse of the midnight sun on June 1, 2011 can be viewed.
The eclipse at maximum seen from Tromsø on the night between June 1 and 2, 2011.

Explanation of table:
All times are given in Norwegian summer time. At first contact the partial eclipse begins. The time for maximum phase is the moment when the Moon covers the largest portion of the Sun. At the time of last contact the partial eclipse ends. There are two ways to describe the magnitude of the eclipse: How much of the solar diameter that is covered by the Moon and how large fraction of the solar disk that is covered by the Moon.
“Diameter at max” indicates how many percent of the diameter that is covered and “Area at max” indicates how many percent of the disk that is covered at maximum eclipse. The altititude of the Sun is also given.
The Sun is positioned in the North-North-West (NNW) during the eclipse.
An (s) means that the Sun is setting during this phase. The eclipse is now visible to the south of Møre and Trøndelag.
Data are computed using the NASA site on solar eclipses.
