Large public event in Tromsø


During the transit of Venus there will be a major public events in Tromsø. Astronomy, celestial events, as well as science and modern technology in general can be experienced as we witness the historic moments of the last Venus transit for more than 105 years!

 

The unique transit of Venus will last for almost 7 hours.

The public event is open at:

Tuesday June 5 from 9 pm.
Wednesday June 6 fra midnight until 07.30 am.
This is the unique, historic day!

Tuesday evening will be used to warm up for the transit. You can get eclipse shades, information of the event and visit some of the exhibitions.

The list of activities and participants below will be updated when needed.

There will be an international broadcast of the transit from the event area. Video from about 10 different locations in Norway and Spitsbergen will be used. Comments in English.
